Haverhill in Bloom

Haverhill in Bloom (HIB) has been helping to keep Haverhill’s town centre attractive for over 20 years. It now sits within Haverhill Community Trust.

The Community Trust helps small organisations to continue to operate when the complicated issues around charity status and reporting become difficult for small groups. HIB works in close collaboration with both Haverhill Town Council and West Suffolk District Council to ensure that the town has displays for all to enjoy in the summer and with a smaller winter planting display.

It is run by a small group of volunteers. The current committee is the remnants of volunteers who came forward to save the organisation in 2016, but now find themselves in the same position as in 2016 and need volunteers to help keep the organisation going with new ideas for projects to enhance all aspects of the town.

It has been responsible for a number of projects over the years including the floral displays in the High Street, Market Square and St Marys churchyard. It also supports the hanging baskets in other parts of the town.

In the past it instigated bulb planting in areas coming into the town which you can still see in the Spring.

Haverhill in Bloom has helped with various tasks around Haverhill, planting in East Town Park in conjunction with the Princes Trust and supporting planting in nursery schools.
